“We’ve traveled all over the world, but we live in Florence. We have stayed at many beautiful villas in Tuscany, but rarely have we ever found such beautiful tranquility. The villa is so exquisitely appointed inside and out that it melts into the surrounding panoramic vistas of the Tuscan landscape. The veranda and gardens are delightful, the beautiful pool is an in-laid mosaic, and Anna, a true Tuscan cook, is superb. Hope to return soon.”

”Our family, twelve of us, had an absolutely fabulous two weeks at Villa dell’Artista in Lucca. A gorgeous villa, beautifully maintained and perfectly located. Sitting on the patio, overlooking the pool and the valley below—simply unforgettable. The cook, Anna—heaven sent, and no one makes pizza like her delightful husband, Fernando. They became part of our family the very first day.
“This is Italy at its very best. We wouldn’t change a thing but we would love to return.”
—Lee and Ron, Portland, OR
“I am escaping to the art room while the rest of the house is asleep. It is a most amazing room. The world is always small. My sister in law, Debbie, is very close to Paul and Laura. I believe they were here recently!! Perhaps we will all have to gather for drinks in SF!!
“Our only regret is that we may steal Anna, our amazing and wonderful chef!!! She must be the best chef in Italy. We never wanted to go out at night. She is the warmest human being. Thank you!!
“Thanks for checking in. We will definitely pass the word around.”

“Villa dell'Artista was just stunning. Our stay the last week of October was perfect weather-wise. Following a swim in the pool, peering through the olive groves and hilltop vistas from the arbored patio was the perfect way to start and end our Tuscan days. The staff, especially chef Anna and her team of Victoria and Fernando, were a highlight. The wood burning oven produced two pizza nights and the best steaks ever—why eat out? We didn’t! The only time we visited the local restaurants was following our bicycle tours, which are superb in this area! While we did some day trips—Florence and Cinque Terre—our next visit will be more about using the villa as a base.
“You have done a wonderful job in restoring a country farm house into a wonderful villa.”
—Megin and Reed, San Francisco, CA
“Villa dell’Artista fits our definition of paradise in every respect. The Villa is elegant and yet at the same time extremely comfortable and inviting. The grounds are spectacular and afford unique view over the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
“The location of the Villa is ideally suited for visiting nearby Lucca, a beautiful city famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls.”
—Barbara and Ron, Los Angeles, CA

“…Of course the views across the mountains are spectacular, and the mosaic pool, but what still haunts me is the food. The fabulous chef Anna is worth the trip on her own. What fabulous pastas, grilled meats and unholy deserts. The ultimate!”
